News from the house

Some news for you: we’re just out of the mastering studio, so in a month we should see in the shops our next release, MOM004 “Quiet Please” by The Heels Of Love, a deep, electronic track with two great remixes from Ajello & Fabrizio Mammarella. Then we will release a digital EP from a great New Wave/Post Punk band called Holiday In Arabia. Next will be Ajello’s turn with two tracks which will be remixed by Altair Nouveau, a very talented producer heard recently on DFA and Solar Disco & by The Heels Of Love. Last but not least we have a great balearic sounding EP by Marbeya Sound, a new band (but already with a release on Eskimo) from San Francisco, their two tracks will be remixed by The Love Supreme and by Fratelli Riviera.

Stay tuned.

The Barking Dogs – It’s What

The Barking Dogs - It's What

The Barking Dogs are some of the most skilled House producers from Italy. They are carefully building their sound on their own label, and their edits have been played by everyone, from Ellen Alien to James Murphy. For this release they team up with the mighty Phillip Lauer, one half of Arto Mwambè, to deliver two deep gems that walk on the line between avantgarde and old school. With the oniric vocals, balearic arps and  grooving bassline these two are the perfect soundtrack to late night after party madness…

Released on a limited edition vinyl and as digital download…

Club Silencio – Painted Boxes

For our second release we have set up an all Italian team of disco stars: Club Silencio are the founders of the now infamous Discolimone night at Sottomarino Giallo (recently praised by Tim Sweeney as “Best Gig of the year 2008″). Their debut on 12″ appeared at the end of 2008 with “Welcome To The Silence” on Ilija Rudman’s Red Music. The following “The Guitar Man” saw them teaming up with the Barking Dogs and was playlisted by all the big names of the scene. Nothing to say more!

Here on MOM002 they deliver a slo-mo deep groove in pure cosmic style coupled with a disco bass which is guaranteed to shake any dancefloor. Sampling work at its best.

For the first remix The Heels Of Love take on from their analog arsenal and work an all acid bassline to top the disco beat.

The final rework is done by Josè Manuel, an habitué of the nu-disco scene (with releases on Eskimo and Kill The DJ and his own imprint Black Pepper). He dwelves in the unexplored territories of experimentalism and here you have it: Italo-glitcy!!.

In the shops now.

The Love Supreme – Tangram

The Love Supreme - Tangram

Mad On The Moon debut release is a classic masterpiece of cosmische Music which has been reworked for late night club action by two italian stars of the nu-disco scene (we leave the track spotting to all the collectors and kraut-geeks): The Love Supreme, their version is direct to the dancefloor, but with a slow paced electro rythm and a classic smooth feeling… when the Moog solo kicks in you will be sent to space with them… Simone Fedi, the man who lately sold out on DC Recordings, Eskimo, and Smash Hit Music has worked a space funk track loaded with analog synth sequencing coupled with its classic live feeling in percussions and drums.

You can find it in the digital stores and in a limited 12″ vinyl edition from today.

Hello!

Hello world! This is the beginning of a new adventure here in Milano, Italy. We are finishing to prepare the first releases of our new label, Mad On The Moon. There will be vinyls, digital releases, free edits and strange stuff. Our sounds will be psychedelic, noisy and disturbed but with a cool dancing attitude and big drums.

Mad On The Moon has been founded by people who love music and who have been playing records, keyboards, samplers, guitars and every kind of electronic instrument for the last fifteen years, more or less. We hope this will help us in our quest to discover the perfect song. In the next weeks we’ll be preparing artworks, making music and discussing. We’ll keep you updated soon with more info on our first release, MOM001
